About This Chapter
This chapter's epigraph is from the opening lines of the novel, "Great Hero Meng" . It's a famous quote from the novel's opening lines, in which the hero laments his inability to repay the kindness of the merchant. The merchant asks the hero to cover the back of the team, but the hero says that the merchant is asking a disciple of the xiaoo sect to do the same. He says that if the disciple's abilities are average, he's probably not good enough to be a member of the sect. He then goes on to say that if his status is not high, then the disciple can't even be good. So the merchant decides to go ahead and cover the rear of the group. The martial artist who's leading the way says that they're going into the wild dragon-forest, which is a dangerous place to be. He asks the group to pass although he is a warrior, and he says that nowadays, "an average person" isn't nearly as good at killing undead monsters as he once was. He also says that he'll wait for them to pick them up after the job's done, and that he doesn't feel any undead auras.
