When the witch wakes up, she realizes that her magic isn't strong enough to save Cymbeline. She's worried that she's going to lose her power, and wonders if she'll be able to save her. The witch says that she can't, because she doesn't have the power to cure all diseases. Life is a miracle, she says, and she wants to send her off for good. But she also wants to make sure that the camp bells don't go off dead. She hears the sound of the bells, and knows that they've been devoured by the "helheim" in front of the family's daughter. She also hears that the nuns' bodies were "spattered" in the "pitter patter" . She thinks that separation is a big part of life, and that she hates how powerless she is. She wonders if the "beastization" process is the same as energy conversion. The second beastization is like energy conversion in that it's a way to make up for the loss of the first beastization. The only problem is that the amount of energy that's being consumed is too high. He's about to lose his control. He wonders if something's happened to the nuns, and if they're still alive. He wants to kill her, but he also wants her to go away. He tries to calm her down, but she still wants to run away. She tells him to hold back, and he tries to tap her on the shoulder.
