About This Chapter
It's been awhile since the two of them have seen each other, but now they're back on the program. The narrator explains that he invited them both to the program because he's written a new book about the devil's taste for spicy food, and he wants to criticize people who panic. He also says that there are people who cause trouble for other people, like the annoying policeman in the police department who's not as good-looking as he is. He tells the audience that he just knew it was a bad idea to meet these two people on the street. He's about to buy a gift when he runs into them. The manager tells him not to be sad anymore, because he shouldn't trust anyone. He warns the narrator not to tell anyone about the encounter, because it'll only cause him more harm. He then tells the narrator to call an ambulance, but that he should go straight to the hospital, since it's best to take care of yourself and your body. He says that he came to the grocery store to "let off some steam" , but it turns out that there's someone there. He can't believe that the woman didn't call him at all that day.
