About This Chapter
"Black Made a Mountain Out of a Molehill" is the title of this chapter's opening scene. It's a reference to a famous line from Shakespeare's play The Merchant of Venice, in which the hero of the play escapes from a molehill and makes his way to the top of a mountain. In this case, it's the protagonist, who escapes from the molehill by making his way down to the bottom of the mountain, where he finds himself in the middle of a group of girls. The girls are jealous of the protagonist's success in breaking the rules at school, and they're all jealous that the protagonist has broken the rules. The protagonist is upset that the prefect wants to see her, but she doesn't want to tell anyone. She's afraid that he's trying to kill her, and she's not going to tell a soul. The prefect's room, she says, is full of other girls, and he wants to warn her not to speak to anyone about the to-t6 or about the gang. She swears that she'll never tell anyone, and the prefect is just trying to get rid
