In this chapter, we are introduced to Mr. Fox and his siblings, who are living with their father in the mountains of Utah. We learn that Mr. and Mrs. Fox are very fond of each other, and that they have a very close relationship. Mr. fox, however, is not a fan of his father. He thinks that he is too fat to be a good father and that his mother is a "dog spirit" . He also criticizes his appearance, saying that he looks like a "fox" when he is talking to his mother.
