About This Chapter
The stage is set, and Hiroyuki and his companions are on their way to the finish line. Hiroyuki tells his companions that they've made it to the top of the mountain, and they're all very happy. They've survived the bad weather, and now they have food to eat. Everyone's excited, but Hiroyuki's worried that they might run out of food by the time they get to the end. He asks if they can wrap their food in these special food bags, so they can push through the tough stuff when the time comes. He's sure that they won't be able to run away with their food supplies, but he's also sure that the food bags will keep them going. The food bags are packed with bell rice balls, which are great for when you're hungry. The group is only half way through the mountain when they hear that Hiroyuki is on his way to get the flat portion of the prize money from his idol, Subaru, and his idol's brother, Uematsu. Everyone is psyched to get to their goal, which is to pass the mountain with the fastest time. They can't even see what's ahead of them, because the mist is getting thicker and thicker. They don't dare lose Hiroyuki, who's supposed to be on the way back to his hometown. He tells them to go ahead, because it's going to be a misty hill, and he doesn't want them to lose their chance to come back to their hometown. Asahina and her shadow are on the other side of the hill, too, and the two of them can see the ghost of their friend, Kentarou.
