In this chapter, we learn that the healing powers of the crystals are not the same as those of the undead. It is safer to try the healing potions later, when they will be less harmful, rather than later when the effects will be more pronounced. We learn that Dr. Nemo has written a journal entry in which he describes a big event that occurred. The computers got out of control, the drugs were released, and people became zombies. He suspects that the laboratory head, Dr. Flan, knows something, because he was too calm. He suggests that they close the g9 and h3 ports and leave the people inside alone. He wonders if there are other potions that can cure the infected. He also wonders if the laboratory is a printing house disguised as a laboratory, and if they are carrying recovery agents. He concludes that breaking into the laboratory on purpose will attract more zombies, so they decide to follow a different route instead.
