About This Chapter
The maid complains that the food at the palace is undercooked and dirty, and there is sand in the food. The maid suspects that the maid's maid, Quin, has been tricking the first lady into thinking that the rice is cooked, when in fact it is not. She tells the maid that she is afraid that the first ladies daughter and son-in-law will not help her since they do not like her. She asks the maid if she can go out to buy food, and the maid tells her that he went to get his allowance today, but that the accountant said that the money had already been allocated for the next month. He tells her to try to eat even if the food is not appetizing, because she will get hungry. He then writes a note for the raven, telling him to deliver three boxes of snacks to the mansion of the third prince every day, afternoon and evening. He instructs the maid to deliver the boxes to the bird every half an hour. The bird is unable to fetch food, clothes or daily necessities, so the maid asks the bird to fetch her everything she needs.
