About This Chapter
It's the first time we've seen a house that's deteriorated over time, and the narrator compares it to a scene from a movie. He's glad to see the house, because it reminds him of scenes from movies like "Heaven's Gate" and "Yakuza Heaven's Blue" . The narrator compares the house to a "poison-tongue mother weird" , and says that the girl must have been forced to marry her father when she was young, and she must have used her father's money to buy the girl's hand in marriage. He compares the girl to a scheming woman who's too meek to be scared, and he compares her to an old woman who is still "ab cup." The narrator then introduces a game for everyone to play, which is called "The King's Game." Everyone is supposed to raise their hands in order to participate in the game, but no one raises their hand. Then, the narrator introduces the game. Basically, everyone draws a card, and whoever draws the first card becomes the king of the kingdom. The king can pick two random numbers from the card, which the person who drew the card can reveal himself to. This game has a "hidden rule," the narrator says, and everyone will have to do what the king tells them to do
