About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a description of a chicken that has been "cleaned up" by the authorities. The chicken's owner is mad at the thought of being punished for his crime. He tells the authorities to put the chicken in jail for a long time. He also tells them that he will not even consider any revenge against them. He says that he is the boss of the society and will take over all of its men and turf. He adds that the society will help him by giving him 70 percent of the profits. This is for his own good, he says. Now that he's the boss, he doesn't have to worry about the spiders. He can keep 30 percent of his profits and donate 70 percent to charity. He'll do this even if it means that he has to earn 80 percent. The chickens' owner is shocked at the idea of being the boss. He wants to know how he got the spiders, but he can't bring himself to tell the authorities about it. Then he sees an eagle. It's not an eagle, it's his master's dog. The two of them often eat together, and the eagle loves to drink wine. They're a perfect match, the chickens say.
