In this chapter, we learn that the Su family will let Ganymede go first because of his family's pride, but that he struck a blow against their pride when he refused to stay and help his friend. The family, he says, has "a huge network" , and they have "assets" that can make them "quake" . He says that he's going to "take them all" if he has to, and that he won't be a "piece of trash" if his friends are killed or injured in the future. He's not going to show off his ability, he tells us, but some enemies want him to help them if he runs into trouble. He tells us that the auction is "very safe and secluded" and that Ganyemede has been preparing for it for a long time. He asks why the auctioneer has been wearing a mask, why there are guards blocking the exits, and why the people at the auction are "people of influence" ? He tells his father that he is determined to win the auction, and he asks why he isn't in school, why he is going to a mountainous area by himself, why the book said he had to go personally if he didn't want to get out of trouble, and so on.
