About This Chapter
In this chapter, we are introduced to the murderer, jim park, and his father, jk clark. . The father and son are in jim's old room, which he has recently renovated for a new purpose. He tells his son that evidence that ties him directly to his murder has an opinion about his interior design, but that he doesn't really have any evidence of the crime. He asks his son to listen to his favorite song, which begins, "Who is the one that dashes across the wind within the darkness?" . He says that the man was "almost the perfect guy" , and that there were many times when he felt he had to kill the man on impulse because he was in love with him. He also says that he didn't think the man would ask for a favor from his father because he wasn't expecting him to do so. But now, he says, he realizes that there is a mutual love between himself and the man, and now he has to be included in the rules of the murder. He reminds his father that he loves him, and he promises to take him into his world.
