This chapter opens with a conversation between tater otte and clink. clink tells tater that he's getting married, but he still loves tater. He tells clink that he doesn't know why he did what he did, but clink points out that it's normal for people to feel this way, but that's not what motivated him to do it. If clink were to marry someone else, he would no longer be the sole owner of the house. He asks clink to have a toast with him, and he tells him that he can't say anything to make it easier for clink, because clink will never see him again.
