Back in the hotel, Mary asks what's going on with her brother. He tells her that he's been working as an extra in the production of the play. He says that the actress's daughter is a big fan of him, and that she's even seen the play before. Mary doesn't care about the other characters, though, because they're just fine. She's not worried about the guy named Ren. He's a good guy, he says, and he has a great career ahead of him. Mary tells him that Ren has gone back to school to get his education, and she thinks he'll do well there. Mary says that Ren's brothers were right about him, that he just got lucky, or it wouldn't have happened to him. She says Ren is worthless, but he has to plan for the future. Mary wants them to go back onstage and sing their songs together.
