In this chapter, we are introduced to a young woman who has just returned from a trip to the Galapagos Islands. She is very excited to be there, as she has never been before, and she is eager to experience the wonders of the Galapagos, which are described in great detail in this chapter. We are also introduced to the young man who has come with her, and we are told that he is a young man of about eighteen years of age, and he has just arrived at the Galapagos with his family. The young man tells the girl that he has come to see her as a guest of his family, and the girl is excited to see him. She tells him that she has come because she loves him, and that she wants to marry him. He tells her that he loves her, but that he does not want her to marry someone who is not worthy of her love. The girl tells the man that she does not trust him, as he is not worth her trust. The old man tells her to go away and reflect on her life, as there are only experiments in her world.
