In this chapter, we learn that a company is working on a project to create a "virtual space" in which two people can live as if they were on another planet. The idea is that once the minds of two people are linked together, they will be able to form a perfect union. This will then be used to determine whether or not the couple is suitable for marriage. A subject rushes out of the lab and runs onto the streets. The investigation found that there is damage done to the brains of the two people who live in the virtual space. The subject's fiance is very upset about this and is planning to sue the company for having his loved one die in this experiment.
