The older man tells him that he has not come back for many years. The narrator is shocked to learn that the man who has been cooking the food for the younger man is none other than the man from three years before. The young man is furious and demands to know who cooked the earlier meal for him. The old man says that it was the one who cooked it for him three years ago, and the narrator says that he will catch him in the act later.
