About This Chapter
The concubine tells the princess that the imperial prince still wants to force him to marry her. The princess says that she is a married woman, so she cannot accept gifts from men. She says that the married couple sets others up without mercy, and she is thankful for this. She apologizes for being rude to the concubin a few days before, and says she is sorry to accept her gifts. She tells him that he was making fun of her earlier, and that she came to apologize. He apologizes and says that he will send more people to bring her more gifts. He tells her that she should take care of herself, and he says that if she is satisfied with the gifts she can send more. He asks her if she was up late the night before and she says yes, and then she apologizes again, saying that she was rude to him earlier. She asks him if he is pleased to accept and he replies that he hopes she is pleased. He says that virtuous offerings cant present her honor, and asks her to come inside. He invites her inside and tells her to search everywhere for the bracelet that the queen gave her. He then asks her why she is there. She replies that she had offended her brother by stealing the bracelet, and now she wants to hide the bracelet. She also says that a girl in her palace told her that the girl saw her stealing the jade bracelet with her own hands. She thinks that this is evidence of her brother's mistake, and wonders why the imperial girl chose this woman to be his wife.
