About This Chapter
In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, the slow human. The slow human is the protagonist of the story, and he challenges the protagonist to a race. The protagonist is determined to win the race, but he is also determined not to let the protagonist overtake him. He tells the protagonist that he will take the protagonist as his slave when he wins the race. When the protagonist realizes that the protagonist is trying to overtake him, he calls out to the protagonist and tells him to get out of the way of the protagonist's progress. He also tells him that racer number 5 has been using smoke to blind racer number 8 and that this is against the rules of racing. When he realizes this, he over-rides the protagonist, and they begin to race at a furious pace. He asks the protagonist if he is scared of falling off a cliff, but the protagonist assures him that he is not.
