About This Chapter
The chapter opens with a description of a "sexy fra- grance" for men. It's called "exotic romance," and it's a scent for "civilized men," "elegant men," and "scents for the civilized." The narrator tells us that he got a paper with a special "signa tures" for the men who wanted to sign it. He tells the men to knock on the door before they come in, to make sure they don't have to wait in line. He also tells them to spread the signa-tures around so that everyone in the nasa community knows that they're getting them. The narrator says that he doesn't know who would do such a thing, but he's not sure if it was started by the astronauts on the lunar mission or by the lunar crew. He says that even if it were started by someone else, it would still be a waste of money. He then tells us about the satel-lite, which is the antenna that drops the antenna. He's the one who developed it, he says, and he says that the whole thing is costing the luna-lunan space program money. Then he tells the narrator not to look down on him, because he has so many brains that he can't use all of them to find out the truth. Instead, he tells him to roll up his sleeves and use all his brains. He asks the narrator to tell him something about "regolith," which is a kind of rock that's made by the astronauts on the moon. He promises to tell the narrator anything he wants to know about it, from the "lunar regolith" to the "pebble stuck in his shoes" .
