In this chapter, we learn that Hayashi and Enoshima are planning to kill Cardinal Sagawa, but that they'll have to wait until they're sure that Sagawa has betrayed them. Enoshima explains that he's using his arm as a "base" for his "spirit" to create artificial fibers, which he can then use to "heraldify" and "preserve the conciousness" of his being. He's also using his body as a base for his spirit to create "artificial muscle fibers" .
