In this chapter, Tommo explains that his family's possessions are only given to his father and uncle after the death of a relative. He tells his younger brother, Yosuke, to "leave your sister alone" . He also tells his older brother, Shoko, to give a rock to his aunt, who died when he was a child. Tommo says that the rock was given to him by the Yukawa family twenty years ago, and that his "auxilary stone" has responded to it ever since. He wonders if the spirits inside him are telling him to do something, and he says that he has had them nagging at him for the past two years.
