About This Chapter
The chapter opens with a description of the King of Japan's "trials," which are "very scrutinous." The King's judges have "scales of sin tools" that they use to "rebut any question is / Who keeps a record . . of those 127 million people" . The King has a "crystal mirror" , which shows all the good and bad that has been done in the past. He also has a list of all the sins that have been committed by the people in his lifetime, which he compares to a "staff of heads" : "to bad deeds, lies, like so, and to good, the truth like so ." He says that he is amazed at how accurate the records are. He compares the records to the afterlife, which is like the "007" in the movie Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi . He adds that they don't write words, but "feel and become one" with the records. He wonders if there are fairies in the afterlife that read the records, but he doesn't know if they would be able to read them. He says they are like "the 007" in Star Wars. He thinks that they are just like "harassment" in that they do not go easy on people in their reports. He notes that many of the reports are written down quickly and hard to read, so they must be hand-written. He is amazed that he can still read the writing of King Gokasaki's letters in 3D. He wishes he could take a break from the "real records" department. He feels that the whole thing is "made up of hyper-focused ogres" like him .
