About This Chapter
At the beginning of chapter 49, Hirohito tells the audience that his poison is keeping his daughter's mother's poison suppressed. She has two powers: one, she produces a poison that destroys her body, and the other, she can re-generate so powerful that she keeps her body alive. The only thing that keeps her alive is her ability to re-create her own body, which is why the scar on her hand never fades. The father tells his son that he and his wife raised him to be healthy, but that he will never see his daughter again. He tells him that they separated him from his mother and raised him in order to protect him from harm. He says that even after they entered protection, they returned to hokkaido and set up a decoy in the city of Tokyo. He asks his son to meet his mother, but she refuses to answer his questions. She says that they are only his parents, and that they only raised him because it was their duty. He begs the doctor to come immediately, but the doctor refuses, saying that it is not his duty to raise a child. The doctor says that he cannot come because of the condition of fujimura, but Hirokito says that it was his duty.
