About This Chapter
The next morning, Hirokazu asks if there's a reason why he hasn't won the dered yet. He says that he's always won, but that feelings change, and that's why he can't play the same game twice in a row. He's going to have to try this out on his own next time he plays, he says, because he'll never be able to do it again. The next day, he asks if he ever met gakky, and he doesn't know who he is, so he assumes it's not a member of the national team. He also asks if the other members of the team talk before their matches, and they don't talk about the weather, so it'll be fine for him to curl up in the morning and watch the game from behind the goal. He adds that even if the team wins the World Cup, it will not erase the loss to the other team in the inter-high tournament. The other team is even better than the one he faced in the high tournament, and even if they do win, they'll still be beaten by the other side in the final. Hiroki says that the fact that he thinks they're favored to lose is proof enough that he feels that his own team is not good enough to beat them. He thinks that the snow will make it even more difficult for them to beat him and his team.
