In the second half of the first-round match between Seiseki and Shimokitai, Shimizu delivers a speech in which he declares that there is "nothing to be scared" of in the first round of the tournament. In fact, he says, they are the best team he has faced in the last three years. He tells his team to keep fighting and not to give in to the fear of losing.
