The chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the previous chapter, in which Hirokazu tells the story of how he got back on his feet after being hit by amaya. He tells us that he still remembers the things he felt, and that he is grateful for them. He says that he can still fight, but that it may not have the same sense of self as he had when he was younger. He also says that if he can beat amaya, then he will be able to beat himself, because he will no longer have reason to stand. The flashback also shows that Hiroki has lost all of his memories of his own existence, and he is now alone. He is so lonely that he could die.
