About This Chapter
In this chapter, Toroi tells us that he loves the girl he met in the sand at the beginning of the chapter. He tells her that he's going to die before he can say goodbye to her. He wants her to know that before he dies, he has no regrets about the way he met her. Toroi says that he wrote the letter as a farewell to everyone, and that he doesn't have regrets about anything. He's just expressing his feelings. He says that the candle creaks, and he wonders what effect it has on the future. He asks if they can use the candles again, and they say that they don't yet know how to do so. They're not sure how many channels they should use, but they do know that they need to choose one of the channels to pick the next one. They also learn that the old woman is still in the toilet, and she charms the boy who injured him with the box of bandages. They decide that the boy should go to the box with the bandages, and then they decide that they should collect the box that contains the boy's body.
