In this short scene, we find out what's been going on between the Governess and her sister. The Governess asks her sister if she's afraid that she'll find out about her past if she goes to see her father. She's worried that if he knows, he'll be able to track her down and punish her for it. She also tells her sister that if she plans to be with her father, she won't be hiding anything from him, even if she knows that he's going to find out. She tells him that she doesn't want him to know that she was a prostitute, and that she used to be his mistress. She says that she is not good enough for her father and that he shouldn't trust her anymore. He tells her that the flight to America is about to leave, and she should meet him at the border.
