In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, who we are told is a "long-awaited new character" . We learn that he is a northern minority lord and that he has traveled many miles to see "yan shuihan" , but that he was captured by the guards as an assassin. We also learn that this new character is a powerful man, just like the " envoys" of the qing state.
