This chapter opens with a flashback to the previous chapter, in which the ghost of the "sky demon" kidnaps a group of family members at the tomb. The family is wiped out by the ghost's brother and his teacher, the "love-stained wisdom" king. The ghost tells the family that the tomb belongs to the sky demon, but he does not tell the family what he plans to do with it. After the flashback is over, the group goes to the hotel cafeteria to eat. The narrator tells the group that he is the only one in the room, and that he has been tasked with taking care of his daughter. He asks the group if they would like to eat boiled brains, but they refuse, saying that they would rather eat plain noodles.
