The guests are drinking blood and singing praises to the "journey through hell" by dante . The narrator says that he has been growing on "the husks" left by the peasants. He says that the only warmth he has received is the "remaining warmth" of the dying. He adds that he is a "must have food item" for the "partying crowd" . When he was young, his father was adventurous and took him away after he helped the poor. He taught him how to read, write, and be a good child. He said that he was not a monster to him and that to him, he was the "best child" in the world . He tells the nanny and the illiterate couple that the director of the hospital has died because of "a medical dispute." The narrator is furious but says that all humans will eventually die someday. "medical disputes," he says, "car accidents and leave behind "crazed demons" as they live their lives in "eternal hell." He tells them to hurry and not to hinder his "cremation." He then tells the couple that he cannot stay on for long after the man has died. "As gugus last thoughts," he tells them, "i cant stay on after he died." The couple asks where the man is and the narrator says he is still alive. The woman replies that the man was still kicking when she said he was empty. The couple decides to go
