About This Chapter
In this short scene, Ming-jin tries to convince his brother-in-law that he is stronger than he really is. He says that he has just destroyed Ming's "bone flower hall" , and that Ming is "nothing compared to you" . Ming-Jin tries to defend himself by saying that Ming-Jing is nothing compared to him, but Ming-Ling says he is a man of his word, so he will fight Ming. Ming says that since he is his boss, he will let Ming fight first, otherwise he'll go after Ming after a second, then he won't wait for Ming to finish him off. He compares Ming to an "endless surging river" or a "overflowing yellow river," and he says he admires Ming because he's not afraid to fight Ming, even if Ming misses his chance to kill Ming. He also says Ming is not weak, and Ming is willing to serve Ming as long as Ming follows his orders. He promises that Ming will never treat Ming badly, and he swears that he will always find Ming if Ming changes his mind.
