The narrator tells the girl that she's too young to work at the house, but the girl says she'll be able to find a part-time job if she wants to. The girl asks the narrator if the pay is high, and the narrator says it's a bit high, but that's just the way it is in the world of recruiting. He also says that the girl seems sharp, and that she bangs her head against the wall a lot. He bets half a month's pay on the girl's success. The little girl is excited to apply for a housekeeping job at the job fair. She's also excited to see her uncle, who's there to greet her. She asks him if they know each other, and his response is that they do, and she should just let her do her job.
