About This Chapter
The door to the house is unlocked, and patter patter enters. He asks the fortune-teller to tell him the truth about his wife. He wants to know who his wife loves, and he wants to kill the other man. The fortune teller tells him that if his wife does not love him anymore, his crystal ball will stay the same. If she does love him, the color of the ball will change. When he is facing his wife's lover, the person will bleed in front of his eyes. He thanks the old lady for her advice. He tells her that it is her fault that her wife did something wrong, and she should be punished for it. He then tells her to have breakfast. The breakfast seller downstairs has told him that they will be closed for several days, so he will not be able to come home. He says that since they have been married, he has not seen her since. He wonders why he misunderstood her, and wonders if it could be that he did not see it with his own eyes. When patter patter asks where he is going, he is told that he is at work. He goes on to say that if he does not make money, how can he buy his bags? The crystal ball broke, his home, how could he invite him over, while he was away. He also says that he will be alone if he is gone.
