The next morning, Dr. Manette wakes up to find that his experiment has failed. He's not sure what's wrong, but he can't figure out how to fix it. He thinks that the door to the chamber is connected to the "King of Hell's Time" , and that the cooling system is the problem. He goes on to explain that he's carrying a time capsule with him all the time, which means that he has to use his "superpower" to seal in the time. The only person who's capable of doing this is Manette.
