About This Chapter
In this chapter, we find out that the lamp--lighting the Taoist priest--was right about one thing: death is not an option for immortals. In other words, death isn't the end of the world. In fact, it's the beginning of a whole new world of possibilities. The Taoist priest tells us that he and his friends are risking their lives in order to win poker cards, but that no one has collected 54 of those cards yet. He also says that he doesn't believe in the idea that immortals will lie about their existences. He's sure that they're risking their own lives to win these poker games, but he also wants to know if anyone has ever left this "hellhole" . This is a big question, because the Taoist priests are still convinced that they are immortals, even though they've been hit by electric waves twice. They're not even sure that physical damage works on an immortal. They just want to kill him. He says that even though he's experienced countless "rebirths" in the world , he can't even catch his breath. He adds that he has become an "immortal" by caring for nature, and that pain is useful. He asks how many people still remain alive in the game, and he says that there are 150 people on the field, and more than 60 are still alive at the moment. He wonders why there are so many people left on the stage, and wonders why the Taoists don't just shut up and let the game go on. He then asks the boss if he cares what he thinks, and the boss replies that he cares for nothing. He tells the boss that he also has a gift for the other Taoists, because he'
