In this chapter, we learn more about Snow's relationship with his grandfather, the pavilion master. The master has heard about the murder of the family, and he has come to Snow to ask him about it. Snow tells him that the family has no enemies, but that the killer is a member of a secret organization called the "sheng long alliance" , which is made up of all the "dragons and phoenixes" . Snow says that he has a wife waiting for him, but he is too lazy to take care of her.
