In the bamboo forest, the old man tells the young men that he will take them to the village of Luo Lan and his family. The young man thanks him for his generosity and asks him to take them there. The old man assures him that they will get there in time to find the girl who has refined the half-finished blue liquid. He then tells the story of how Lin was able to transform from body tempering to spirit gathering in a few days. Lin's name is "Luo Lan," and the young man is fascinated by the name. He tells the men that there is a dog running in the bamboo through which they will soon be able to reach the village. He asks the men how he can get to the house of Lin, and they tell him to stop and look for the girl. The girl runs away, and Lin tries to stop her, but she is too scared to do so. Lin tells him that he is bullying the girl, and he threatens to hit her
