About This Chapter
When Duan-fei arrives home, he is greeted by his wife, who has prepared a sumptuous dinner for him. When he asks her what she plans to cook for him, she replies that she has never seen a woman cook before. Duanfei, however, is certain that his wife will punish him for shopping too much. He tells his wife that he has informed the supermarket staff that he does not need to be there that night, so that he can return home earlier. He says that he is "dizzy dizzy dizzy" and cannot bear to let his mother worry about him. He tries to buy his groceries by himself, but he is unable to do so because of his mother's strict orders. When his wife asks him what he has prepared for dinner, he tells her that he had cooked his favorite abalone. She is surprised to learn that he was talking to himself in the house where she had last seen him. She asks him why he is there, and he says that the house belongs to his wife. She tells him that she will tell him everything
