In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character named "little zhan" . He is a young boy who has been raised by his father, who is a priest. He has been sent to the Temple of the Holy Sepulchre to perform an unholy sacrifice with his brother, the priest Alphonse. The two of them are about to perform the sacrifice when the young boy falls to the ground and hurts himself. He begs the priest to help him, but the priest refuses to help. The young boy begs his brother to continue the sacrifice, but his brother refuses, saying that he wants to die on his bed.
