In this chapter, Little Black tries to convince his brother that he should go back to his room and tell him what's been going on. He's worried that he's not being taken care of, and he wants to make sure that he doesn't get in any more trouble. Little Black reminds him that he has a friend waiting for him one year from now at the "beast spirit mountain pass" . He tells Little Black that his friend will tell him everything he needs to know, and that she'll be waiting for Little Black at the mountain pass. He also reminds Little Black to be careful, because his boss will be suspicious of him, but Little Black can trust her, because she's going to tell him all the right things. He says that he really wanted to tell Little Black all the stories of the world after this, but now he can't. He wants to be alone, and Little Black says that's irresponsible, because he should be responsible for dragging Little Black underwater until the end.
