In this chapter, we learn that the white youths have captured many beast spirits, and that many of them will not survive if they are not allowed to return to Sierra Leone. If they do not return, the entire slave trading market will collapse, and the lives of the captives will be at greater risk. The white youths will gather the eight "white youths" to protect them from the machines, and they will tar pole an scram if they dare to return.
