About This Chapter
In this short scene, the narrator laments the fact that he has not yet written a song about himself. He tells us that his parents have gone on vacation to Mexico, and that he and his daughter have not yet met the "sperm donor" whom he calls "Oad." The narrator then tells us about his parents' divorce, and how his daughter was unable to hold her liquor during the recording session for the song. The narrator also reveals that he is in love with Mac, but that he will have to fall hard for him if he wants to write a love song. Mac's son, Monty, and his friend, simon, have been apprehended at the music shop where the narrator works. Mac says that he does not know who these two men are, but he does know that they do not need "leonato" to make them sigh "starve stars." He tells his friends to hurry back to work because he has been working hard at the piano.
