About This Chapter
Gil tells the gang that he's lost everything except for his pension, and that the cops are looking for him. Gil says he doesn't know if it was his idea to plant a bomb, but he does know that a couple of detectives think he planted it. Gil tells them to relax, and he promises to take them to a place called "The Jake and the Bake" , where they can have some real food. Gil thinks this is hilarious, because he spent all of his money on food, clothes, and everything else. Gil reminds them that they all came from a "golo digging family," and that Gil is the only one who's left. Gil asks if there's a problem, and if there is, then he'll figure out a way to solve it. He's going home, Gil says, to "protect" himself. Gil and Gil's business has gone, and they're just trying to make a go of it in the world of showgirls. Gil is worried about his mom, who always had an "escape plan" .
