The prince of Lan Ling tells his brother-in-law that the neighboring province of Zhejiang has put up a huge army to take advantage of the weakness of the qi army. Lan Ling says that the enemy has only one mounted soldier to crush the enemy with brute force. The prince tells Lan Ling that the northern qi chancellor was furious when the news of the invading zhou troops reached his of, and that he plans to have the enemy's mother brought to him alive. He also tells the prince that the troops of the zhou province are not an army, but a "blinch of rebels." The prince orders Lan Ling to head to Luo Yang and subdue the rebels at once. He says that fighting 200,000 rebels does not matter to him, as the number of soldiers matters not. He tells his nephew that he is looking forward to his military achievements, as he wishes, and tells him that he will lead his soldiers soon. He then tells his uncle that the war has been going on for three hundred years, since the fall of the northern dynasties. The northern dynasties have occupied the west half of the country, while the south has occupied the south east.
