In this short scene, we are introduced to the main character, a young man who has just returned from a trip to the underworld. He is very handsome, and we are told that he is not allowed to marry because he is a member of the underworld's "inhabitants" . The young man tells us that his father will not allow him to marry a man of his social class, but that he will allow the young man to marry someone of his own social class. He then tells us about the "one condition" that he must fulfill in order to return to paradise. He explains that he cannot return to the paradise because he has been punished for being an inhabitant. He says that he has decided to marry the young woman. He tells her that he can send her back to paradise without having to satisfy the requirements of the paradise. She agrees to this condition, but only after he kisses her on the lips. She is not listening, and the contract is sealed.
