About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that the family who killed hao was Linghu's family. We learn that linghu was expelled from school for "scandalous things" , and that her mother is trying to kill her. She tells her son-in-law that he should go to a doctor and get justice for his daughter's death. He tells her that if she wants her children to be successful, then she shouldn't save a rebellious girl like yumeng. The old master tells him that if he and his children can't be successful because of what they did, then they'll be criticized forever. The mother blinks and says that she doesn't want to kill herself. She says that wine will die in vain, so she's going to have her children go down to fetch the doctor. The grandfather says that the goose-down pillow on which yumeng was sleeping was ripped and that the feathers have all fallen out. He says that he's learned a lot of autopsy skills from Master Chami, so he can examine the wound on her neck and see if it's a real wound. He's convinced that the third aunt is responsible for killing yumeng, and he wants her to go away. .
