He tells us that the man who chased the thief the night before left a letter for the duke, but the duke couldn't find him in time to catch him, so he left the letter behind. The narrator is afraid that fox is using his magic spell to rob the duke's mansion, since he's the founder of the state that destroyed the star palace. He also tells the narrator that the state's soldiers won't treat him any better than they did the previous night, so they're going to have to force the duke to give them the news that he is sick and needs to be taken to the hospital. The duke finally comes back, and the narrator tells him that the warlock can cast spells from the palace. The woman they met last time also can cast the spells. The eldest son from the last time is coming back, which is bad news for them, since they've lost their chance to take revenge against the nings.
