The baby finally falls asleep, and the narrator tells us that it's been a long time since she's slept so peacefully. She's a "big girl" , and her father is "ahem" better than a "random boy" . The narrator assures the baby that she'll always come first, no matter what happens, and that he'll protect her "for life" if she ever becomes a girl again. He also tells her that if she becomes a boy again, he's going to "protect you for life" and "be the knight of three of you" and protect her for the rest of her life. The baby says that she doesn't really want much, but the narrator assures her that as long as their life is beautiful, the future will be "worth looking forward to." The narrator tells the baby to take a bath first, and then he promises to "make you remember forever" that she is his "little sister." The baby can't believe that the narrator is calling her, and she begs the narrator not to call her again. She tells him to calm down, and he agrees to do so.
